They never went away

I feel like Heledd in Cynddylan’s hall,
A roofless ruin amid a land ransacked,
Or Taliesin seeing comrades fall
As rampant Saxon brutes the corpses hacked,
Or frightened Beuno by the Severn shore
On hearing Angle roars rumbling from the east,
Or shocked Llywach Hen weeping at the gore,
His dead sons rotting while the cruel thugs feast.

From this base barbarians raped the Earth
To forge a world of greed to suit the few
Where might is right and only wealth has worth.

Oh, their overthrow is so long overdue!
Rise up, oppressed masses, and bring re-birth!
Destroy the fascists, build a Cymru new!
